As a lot of other reviewers have already said, this is a fabulous machine. It’s easy to use while still providing enough options to challenge and educate a learning sewer. It operates smoothly and quickly and doesn’t balk at thick or demanding fabric. I had been using a 30-year-old machine, and so the leap to a computerized machine that cuts my thread, threads the needle, and can remember hundreds of pre-programmed stitches was exhilarating. There isn’t much of a learning curve as long as you familiarize yourself with the manual. Read more here.

Now, while I was researching this sewing machine, I did notice that a few people complained that the back-stitch is a little slow but it didn’t seem to bother them to much as they also said “for 3-5 stitches at the end of a run, I’m not really caring.”  There were not to many negatives on the Brother pc-420.
